Ivan Perišić to make PSV debut as Luuk de Jong and Johan Bakayoko drop to the bench against Willem II

The team news is out for PSV Eindhoven’s Eredivisie clash against Willem II. Peter Bosz’s side travel to Tilburg having experienced a perfect start to the new season. Emphatic wins against Waalwijk (5-1), Heracles (3-1) and Almere (7-1) make PSV the huge favourites heading into this one.

The big news coming out of this one is that Ivan Perišić has been handed his first start since arriving at the club two weeks ago. The former Tottenham, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich man joined on a free transfer following his departure from Hajduk Split. Luuk de Jong and Johan Bakayoko drop to the bench, in a surprise call from Peter Bosz.

Willem II are the hosts for this match. They’ve experienced a relatively solid start to life since their return to the top flight, with two big wins, Go Ahead Eagles (2-0) and RKC Waalwijk (3-0). A victory for them could shoot them into the European places, while a win for PSV would take them five points clear at the top of the table.
