Inter’s Zinho Vanheusden returning to Standard Liege on loan with purchase option

Het Nieuwsblad re reporting that Zinho Vanheusden will be returning to Standard Liege. The 23-year-old will join on loan, with Standard having negotiated a purchase option as part of the deal. Central defender Vanheusden began his career with Standard Liege, where he impressed as a young player and earned a move to Inter. However, since moving to Italy, the defender has suffered with injuries which has curtailed his development. The defender has also been capped once by the Belgian national team.

Vanheusden made 76 appearances for Standard, scoring four times. He never made an appearance for the Inter first team, spending time on loan at Genoa and AZ Alkmaar. He only made eight appearances for the Dutch side last season. There is hope that he will be able to rediscover his form and perhaps join Standard permanently next summer.

Standard will be coached by Carl Hoefkens this season, who replaced Ronny Deila. The former Celtic head coach left Standard for Club Brugge near the end of the 2022/2023 season.
