Inter send former goalkeeper to scout young Belgian shot stopper

Voetbalkrant are reporting that former Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was present this afternoon as Standard Liege beat OH Leuven 1-0. The former Slovenian goalkeeper was there to cast an eye over OH Leuven’s young Belgian goalkeeper Tobe Leysen,. His old side Inter are clearly looking into the possibility of bringing Leysen to Serie A. The 21-year-old made his debut for OH Leuven back in November and has now become the sides undisputed number one.

Leysen joined the side from Genk in the summer, having only made four appearances for the side. He has played 14 games for OH Leuven since becoming first choice, conceding 12 goals and keeping three clean sheets. He has impressed with some high class saves, and while there is still some work to be done to improve in certain areas, it is not surprising that clubs within Europe are starting to scout the young keeper, who is also a Belgian youth international.
