Inter once again interested in Club Brugge’s Canadian international

La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Inter are once again showing interest in Club Brugge versatile Canadian international Tajon Buchanan. It was expected that the 24-year-old, who impressed at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, would be on his way to Italy over the summer. However, the much talked about move to Inter did not materialise and Buchanan has had to return to playing with Club Brugge. He has made nine league appearances this season, mainly at right-back, scoring twice and providing once assist.

Inter see Buchanan as a long-term replacement for Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries, who they expect to garner much interest from other European sides in January and the summer of 2024. Buchanan has a contract with Club Brugge until 2025, but it is understood that he is unlikely to renew as he favours a move to Serie A. Since joining the side in the winter window of 2022 from New England he has made 64 appearances and scored five goals. For Canada, he has 33 caps and four goals.
