Inform Roma man Romelu Lukaku could give Belgium the edge over Austria

While his club future remained up in the air all summer, Romelu Lukaku was still able to find the net regularly for the Belgian national team. Over the last few games, the countries record goal scorer has scored five goals in four matches. Belgium will face Austria on Friday night with a chance to secure their spot at Euro 2024 with a win.

Yet while Lukaku was in form for Belgium, since moving to new club Roma he has rediscovered his Serie A shooting boots. The striker has scored five goals in six league games this season, as well as two in the Europa League. Four of these goals have come in his last three matches, as Roma have won three in a row. Domenico Tedesco has kept faith in the on loan Chelsea forward despite all the off the pitch noise surrounding him this summer. Lukaku could certainly add to his 77 international goals over the coming week, and with the form he is in you wouldn’t bet against it.

Under the new head coach the Red Devils are currently unbeaten, with only one draw over the six game period. That came at home against Austria, who are second in Group F and level on points with Belgium on 13. Sweden are third on six points and travel to Belgium on the 16th. Therefore even without a win over Austria, Belgium can confirm their place if they win against Sweden.
