Hibs loanee Ewan Henderson scores again as Oostende defy odds with cup win over RWDM

Ewan Henderson was amongst the goals once again for Oostende as the side, who are on the verge of bankrupts, put in another spirited display to overcome heavy favourites RWDM. The side from the second tier of Belgian football overcame their Pro League opponents 2-0 at home, with Brent Laes scoring the other goal. Henderson has now scored two goals in two games, having grabbed his third for the club in their dramatic 3-2 win over Zulte Waregem.

Like their clash last weekend against Zulte Waregem, there were concerns that Oostende would go out of business before they could face RWDM in the last 16 of the domestic cup. However, recently appointed head coach Jamath Shoffner oversaw a morale boosting win for the side.

This may just be temporary joy for the Oostende fans as things continue to deteriorate behind the scenes, but for now they are giving the fans something to cheer about. Their next two games are a huge relegation battle with Francs Borains at the weekend, before a home match against Deinze. Fans and neutrals will be hoping that the side are able to find new owners soon so that they can continue to function.
