Heerenveen hoping to complete the loan signing of Norwegian winger from Serie A side Sassuolo

According to Voetbal International, SC Heerenveen are looking to complete the loan signing of Emil Ceïde from Sassuolo. The Eredivisie side have reached a verbal agreement with the Norwegian winger, but are still waiting for the green light from Sassuolo.

Emil Ceïde has featured six times in Serie A this season and three times in the Coppa Italia, registering one goal. Heerenveen targeted the 22-year-old winger last summer, but a transfer collapsed. Now, the Norwegian youth international is close to completing a move to the Abe Lenstra Stadion, where he’s set to play for the rest of the campaign.

Heerenveen’s loan deal will not include an option to buy. The former Rosenborg man is set to stay until the end of the campaign before returning to Sassuolo. Heerenveen are currently ninth in the Eredivisie table and are looking to build on last season’s eighth place finish. Emil Ceïde will provide pace up front and some competition for fellow forwards Ché Nunnely, Patrik Wålemark and Osame Sahraoui. The transfer isn’t guaranteed to go ahead, but after Sassuolo’s agreement, the deal will be sealed.
