On Saturday afternoon, Hans Vanaken was part of a presentation to Zulte Waregem’s veteran forward Jelle Vossen. The former Burnley and Middlesbrough man, once a teammate of Vanaken at Club Brugge, was being honoured for reaching 600 career appearances. The 35-year-old is still going strong, with three goals in eight games in the Belgian second tier. Unfortunately, during the 2-2 draw with Francs Borains, Vossen remained on the bench.

Vossen has had a remarkable career in Belgium. Of his 224 goals, only nine have come outside of playing for Belgian sides, which was during his spell with Middlesbrough. During his time with Genk he scored 105 goals and at his current side he has 54 goals in just over 140 games. He has also been keen to help his teammates, providing 62 assists during his 600 games.
Vossen is a four time Belgian champion, once with Genk and three times with Club Brugge. He won the Belgian cup twice with Genk and the Super Cup twice during his time with Club Brugge.
