After missing out on a transfer to Al Nassr, Feyenoordโs David Hancko could still make a good move. According to Voetbal International and La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 27-year-old centre-back is on the list for Champions League finalists Inter Milan.
La Gazzetta dello Sport explain that Hancko isnโt the only defender Inter are considering. Giovanni Leoni, with whom Inter manager Cristian Chivu already worked at Parma, is said to be the top target, and Genoaโs Belgian, Koni De Winter, has also been considered.
As per the pink newspaper, the problem with Leoni, however, is that Parma are asking for a higher amount than Inter are willing to pay, and there is a lot of competition for De Winter, for example, from the Premier League.
Earlier this summer, Hancko seemed to have finalised a move to Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr. There was an official offer, and with a few minor adjustments, a deal would have been reached, but then came events beyond Feyenoordโs control. First, the CEO of Al Nassr left, followed by the sporting director, Fernando Hierro and then the manager, Stefano Pioli.
In the past, Juventus and especially Atlรฉtico Madrid also wanted Hancko, and official inquiries were made about the Slovakian centre-back. According to the Italian media outlet, Feyenoordโs asking price for Hancko โis not a stumbling block for Interโ. The clubโs management were able to scout Hancko live for at least 180 minutes last season as Feyenoord faced Inter in the Champions League round of 16. With Hancko on the pitch in both matches, they lost twice (1-2 and 0-2).
