Hadj Moussa signs new Feyenoord deal with intent: โ€œThis year, Iโ€™m going to give even moreโ€

Anis Hadj Moussa signed a contract extension with Feyenoord this week. With the 23-year-oldโ€™s new deal running to the summer of 2030, the winger wants to confirm his qualities next season.

This window, Hadj Moussaโ€™s name was shortlisted at Benfica, but the Algerian gave his word to Feyenoord, with Rob van Persie playing a big part in proceedings.

โ€œIโ€™ve spoken with the manager a lot, and he convinced me. He told me what he plans for me and the team. That heโ€™s asking a lot of me. Iโ€™m just happy about that.โ€

Hadj Moussa is on the eve of his second season at De Kuip. Things are moving quickly for the creative wide man. โ€œItโ€™s like magic. I feel like I just closed my eyes; I open them again, and now Iโ€™m here. Thatโ€™s also due, of course, to all the hard work and time we put in. If someone had asked me if I would make the move again, I would do it all over again.โ€

โ€œIn the beginning, people said I didnโ€™t defend much, that I was careless,โ€ Hadj Moussa continued. โ€œBut thatโ€™s not the case at all; thatโ€™s not me at all. People tend to forget that this was my first year with a lot of matches, whether itโ€™s the Champions League or the Eredivisie. I think it was a good season, but some things could be better. This year, Iโ€™m going to give even more.โ€
