HLN are reporting that Anderlecht striker Luis Vazquez will join Getafe on loan until the end of the season. Getafe will also have the option to buy the striker at the end of the season. Anderlecht has been looking to move on from the striker after spending โฌ4.5m to bring him to Belgium from Boca Juniors. With Danylo Sikan set to join the club from Trabzonspor, Getafe have provided Anderlecht with a solution to their problem.
Vazquez never quite looked the part in Belgian football. The tall Argentinian striker only scored 18 goals in 116 games for the side, two more than he managed in 99 games for Boca Juniors. His best season was the 2024/2025 campaign, with nine goals in 55 games. During the season prior, Vazquez scored seven goals in 41 games. So far this season, the 24-year-old has scored twice in 20 appearances in both league and cup.
Getafe are currently in 15th place in Spainโs La Liga. After 20 games they ahve six wins and sit just two points above the relegation places. They clearly are in need of a forward, with just 15 goals scored so far this season. The top scorer for Getafe is the injured Borja Mayoral, who has four of their 15 goals.
