There was plenty of concern in the Planet Group Arena on Sunday when defender Noah Fadiga suddenly collapsed during the first half. The 24-year-old joined Gent a few seasons ago after being released from his contract with Ligue 1 side Brest. The French side had been concerned about heart irregularities that had been found during medical testing. The defender was given the all clear to play, but Brest allowed him to leave. This is the only incident that has happened since he joined the Buffaloes last season.
Thankfully, Fadiga was able to walk, albeit aided, off the pitch. Gent have since provided an update that tests have come back positive for the defender but that he will undergo additional medical examinations in the coming days. Fadiga had been having a great season for Gent, with four goals in 23 games from full back. This is by far his best scoring season. Hopefully he will be able to make it back onto the pitch without anymore issues.
