Genk steal Tolu Arokodare from under Anderlecht’s noses

During deadline day it appeared that Tolu Arokodare would be on his way to Anderlecht from French side Amiens. However, after the departure of Paul Onuachu to Southampton, Genk became interested in the 22-year-old Nigerian striker. In the end. Arokodare ended up joining the Belgian league leaders instead of Anderlecht.

Genk claim to have been tracking the former Koln striker for some time, so once it was clear Onuachu would be leaving on deadline day they decided to spring into action. In the French Ligue 2, he managed to score 8 times in 23 games and provide two assists. Genk were active in bringing players in during the winter window, having signed Anouar Ait El Hadj,  Yira Sor and Alfred Caicedo.
