Genk reject approach from Club Brugge for Paul Onuachu

Genk have rejected an approach from Club Brugge for star striker Paul Onuachu.

Club Brugge were hoping to bring Rasmus Hojlund to the club this summer but have missed out with the striker choosing to join Atalanta instead.

They’re now looking for an alternative target and, according to Het Laatste Nieuws, have enquired about signing Onuachu from Pro League rivals Genk.

Unsurprisingly, the Nigerian’s current club rejected the approach, stating that he’s not for sale at any price to domestic competitors.

Onuachu, who scored 21 goals in the league last season, is keen to leave the club to move to a bigger European league, and Wolves and Sevilla have both been linked with him, but it’s not thought that he’d push for a move to Club Brugge.

The Belgian champions would be willing to pay a minimum of €10m for his services, but it’s likely that they’ll have to look elsewhere.
