Genk looking for Crystal Palace to increase their bid for Colombian international defender

As reported by HLN, Genk have turned down an offer from Crystal Palace for the signing of Colombian right-back Daniel Munoz. While the 27-year-old is keen on making the switch to Selhurst Park and the Premier League, Genk want to receive a fee of at least €10m for arguably the best right-back in the Belgian Pro League. As things stand, Genk will not sell unless Crystal Palace can improve their offer.

The 27-year-old right-back is one of the best in his position in the Pro League, and from an attacking sense his numbers are very impressive in recent times. So far this season the defender has five goals and one assist in 17 matches. During the 2022/2023 season Munoz scored eight goals and provided five assists.

Munoz contract expires at the end of the current season, but Genk do have the option to extend it for a further year. Therefore, they can try and get maximum value for one of their key players. Like with Gerardo Arteaga, who has also been linked with a move away in January, the side are likely to want to find a replacement before agreeing to the sale of Munoz.

At international level, Munoz has been capped 23 times by Colombia.
