Genk confirm Yira Sor signing from Slavia Prague

Genk have confirmed the signing of Yira Sor from Slavia Prague. The 22 year-old Nigerian has signed with the club until 2027 and will take the number 14. The club have announced that he will be put on an individual training regime to increase his chances of being available to play when the squad returns for the game against Club Brugge on the 8th of January.

Sor scored six goals in six games in the Conference League for Slavia Prague during the 2021/2022 season. This season Sor has struggled to get regular playing time in the Czech league, playing just three times. In the Conference League he has played four times, but in neither competition has he managed to find the net.

Genk are currently top of the Belgian Pro League, however they suffered a shock defeat to Kortrijk on their return from the World Cup break. The side did manage to advance in the cup with an extra time victory over Anderlecht. Their reward for that victory was a tie with Antwerp in the quarter finals.
