Gambian international set to leave Genk and join up with Cesc Fabregas in Como

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Gambian international Alieu Fadera is set to join Como. The winger will leave Genk after just one season with the side to link up with Cesc Fabregas in Italy. Fadera will join the side for their Serie A season after they won promotion from the Italian second tier last season.

The 22-year-old winger played 35 games for Genk during his first season with the club in 2023/2024. He scored three goals and grabbed two assists during the season. Prior to that he had enjoyed a breakout season with Zulte Waregem. Despite the sides relegation from the Belgian Pro League, Fadera excelled with eight goals and six assists in 38 games, having not scored in any of his 20 appearances during the 2021/2022 season.

Fadera has also been capped a handful of times for the Gambian national team, but is yet to score his first competitive goal. He has already played two games for Genk this season.
