From struggling in Berlin to excelling in Antwerp: Nigerian winger should have plenty of suitors in the summer

It is fair to say that Chidera Ejuke did not have the best of times at Hertha Berlin last season, but then not many did. The side were relegated and the now 26-year-old, on loan from CSKA Moscow, failed to find the back of the net. Fast forward a year, and Ejuke has been one of the more electric and exciting players to watch in the Belgian Pro League with Antwerp.

Ejuke has attempted the most dribbles out of any player in the Pro League this season, and his willingness to execute tricks and flicks has truly entertained neutrals and Antwerp fans so far. He certainly deserves to have more than three assists in the Pro League, having created around 28 chances this season. Against Sint-Truiden in the sides recent 3-0 win he was exceptional and at the heart of everything that the side did well.

These performances in Belgium this season should not go unnoticed. Ejuke is out of contract in the summer at CSKA, and Antwerp would surely love to keep him around. However, other teams should also be circling. His ability to unlock a defence with a piece of skill is something that fans love to see, and at the end of the day, football is all about entertaining the crowd. While his time in the Bundesliga was not great, it should not rule out a move to a club in a top league.
