Former Ajax star Dusan Tadic embarks on lucrative adventure after leaving Fenerbahçe

Former Ajax midfielder Dusan Tadic is set to continue his career at Al-Wahda FC in the United Arab Emirates, according to local media.

According to journalist Ahmed Ragab (via Voetbal Zone), Tadic has reached an agreement on a one-year contract, with an option for an additional season. Al-Wahda considers Tadic’s transfer a “very big one.” Tadic is currently reportedly in Abu Dhabi to finalize the transfer. An announcement is expected soon.

Tadic’s contract with Fenerbahçe expired this summer and was only to be extended if they won the league title. After finishing a distant second behind Galatasaray, Tadic moved on and has now selected this lucrative adventure with the side that finished third in the UAE Pro League.

Rumours had circulated for a while that the left-footed playmaker could return to his home country, with Red Star Belgrade, but that didn’t come to fruition. Earlier this summer, Benfica and Atlético Madrid were also reportedly interested in the Serbian. Clubs from Mexico and Saudi Arabia also registered interest, along with Ajax.
