Eintracht Frankfurt have been looking ahead to the meeting with Ajax following the Europa League’s draw. The first official meeting between the two clubs awaits in the round of 16. The Germans are wary of the qualities of the Eredivisie leader.
“Ajax are a very good team,” said technical director Markus Krösche on Sky Sports. “They are a really tough opponent, but also a club we are looking forward to playing against. (They’re a) big club. But we want to take the next step, we want to go to the next round.”
First team coach Dino Toppmöller is also looking forward to the clash between the two teams, who only met once in a practice match in 2020. “We are all looking forward to a great match. These will be two fantastic matches. A special duel, also for our fans.”
“It’s a match against a team that is playing very good football at the moment,” Toppmöller knows. “It will be very exciting.”
