Former Toulouse midfielder Steve Mvoué included in Cameroon World Cup pre-selection

RFC Seraing’s number five Steve Mvoué has been included in the Cameroon pre-selection for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. As reported by Voetbalkrant, Mvoué moved to Seraing in the summer with one eye on making the final selection for Qatar. He has already been capped once by Cameroon, but that was back in 2019 in a friendly against Zambia.

The 20 year-old midfielder has played five times for Seraing this season, and is yet to score or provide an assist. Mvoué moved from his native Cameroon to Toulouse in 2020, but only made 12 appearances before moving across the border to Belgium, where he signed a two year contract with the Liege based side.

Seraing were widely tipped to be relegated this season, having lost the majority of their squad that escaped the drop via the play-offs last season. Without the usual loanees from their close relationship with FC Metz, Seraing have had to rely on free signings and loans to bulk out their squad. They currently occupy 16th spot in the Pro League, with 11 points from 14 games.
