Former Tottenham prospect helps SL16 to second win of the season

Standard Liege’s second team, who play in the Challenger Pro League, have had a difficult start to the season. However, the team in the second tier of Belgium football were given a boost when Romaine Mundle was made available to play for them against Deinze. The former Tottenham Hotspur academy prospect scored twice to give the side just their second win of the season.

Mundle scored after just 10 minutes to give SL16 the lead, but Souleymane Anne scored from the spot in first half added time. With just three minutes to go, Mundle grabbed his second and it proved to be the winning goal. This was Mundle’s first minutes since the 19th of August against Cercle Brugge. He was on the bench against Kortrijk and RWDM at the end of August/beginning of September. Since then, an injury has kept him out of action.

If Mundle can continue to perform well for SL16, he should be able to force his way back into the first team as he continues to recover from injury.
