Former Roma and Inter Milan midfielder Radja Nainggolan arrested in Antwerp

Former Belgian international midfielder Radja Nainggolan has been arrested in Antwerp for driving without a valid driver’s licence. As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, the 34 year old Royal Antwerp midfielder was arrested by police carrying out checks just before noon. After questioning, the midfielder was released.

This is the second time that Nainggolan has been involved in a driving incident since moving to Antwerp. In 2021 he was caught drunk driving and speeding in the city.

Nainggolan moved to the club in the summer of 2021 from Inter Milan, having spent the majority of his professional career in Italy. Over the past few weeks the experienced midfielder has been used more as a substitute, as manager Mark van Bommel prefers to go with Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, who the club signed from Hertha Berlin in the summer.

Antwerp currently sit top of the Belgian Pro League having only lost one game so far this season. Despite this impressive start, manager Mark van Bommel is not getting carried away.
