HLN are reporting that former Liverpool favourite Dirk Kuyt is set to become the new head coach at Beerschot. The side from Antwerp, who share an owner with Sheffield United, are in search for a new head coach after Andreas Wieland shock request to leave the club earlier this month.
Kuyt has been without a job since leaving Ado Den Haag back in November of 2022. In 17 matches in charge of the side he only won five times, drawing four and losing eight. Now he takes over as Beerschot sit joint top of the Challenger Pro League with Zulte Waregem. The top two in the CPL will be promoted this season, with Beerschot having a three point lead over Deinze in third place.
The club are currently up for sale as Abdullah bin Musaid Al Saud looks to remove the side from his portfolio of clubs. Their current position and the addition of a well known head coach within the footballing world may help push the profile and attract new ownership bids.
