Former Huddersfield Town midfielder strikes late to deny RKC Waalwijk first win of the season

RKC Waalwijk were just minutes away from grabbing a first win of the season over FC Twente. The side, rooted to the bottom of the Eredivisie, were without a point going int o the clash. However, goals from Richonell Margaret and Silvester van der Water had given them a 2-1 lead heading into added time.

Yet just as their fans could finally dream of ending the terrible run, former Huddersfield Town and Genk midfielder Carel Eiting grabbed a late equaliser to rescue a point for Twente. Poor defending from a Sem Steijn corner saw the midfielder put the ball away under little pressure. Waalwijk at least came away from the match with a point, but after nine games without any it will feel like a loss. They remain seven points away from SC Heerenveen in the relegation play-off spot. The side under Robin van Persie were comfortably beaten by NEC Nijmigen on Saturday evening.

Next up for Waalwijk is a trip to newly promoted NAC Breda, while Twente have a Europa League clash with Lazio at home.
