According to Portuguese outlet A Bola (via VI), Inter Milan sees former Feyenoord man Orkun Kökcü as an ideal successor to Hakan Calhanoglu.
Calhanoglu (31) seems to be on his way to Galatasaray and has already been “talked towards the exit by Inter captain Lautaro Martínez”. Turkish international teammate Kökcü has been targeted as his replacement. He, in turn, recently had a falling out with Benfica coach Bruno Lage when he was taken off prematurely at the Club World Cup.
According to international media, Inter aren’t the only club interested in the 24-year-old midfielder. AS Roma and AC Milan are also linked to the Haarlem-born player. For Feyenoord, a transfer of Kökcü would be a pleasant bonus. The Rotterdammers stipulated a resale percentage of 25 per cent when selling the former captain.
Two summers ago, Kökcü transferred from Feyenoord to Benfica for almost 30 million euros. In 60 league matches, he scored 14 goals and provided 15 assists. Kökcü has 41 international caps for Turkey.
