Former Everton winger and Togolese international free to leave Kortrijk this winter

Voetbalkrant are reporting that Kortrijk winger David Henen has been told he is free to leave the club this winter. The Togolese international joined the club in the winter of 2022 and has gone on to make 32 appearances. However, the 27-year-old has struggled with injury this season which has restricted him to just six appearances. With his contract up in the summer, Kortrijk are looking to move him now to free up some financial space for new signings.

Henen began his career at Anderlecht before moving to Monaco in 2013. In 2015 he joined Everton, but featured mainly for the U23 side, with a loan spell at Fleetwood during the 2015/2016 season. He left Everton and returned to Belgium in 2018, joining Charleroi. After 47 appearances and three goals he moved to Grenoble for one and a half seasons, making 43 appearances with two goals.

Kortrijk are currently bottom of the Belgian Pro League.
