Former England youth international joins Kortrijk on loan from Nottingham Forest

Kortrijk have announced the signing of Alex Mighten on loan from Nottingham Forest. The 21-year-old winger will be with Kortrijk for the 2023/2024 season, with no mention of a purchase option included. Last season, the former England U19 international spent the first half of the campaign on loan with Sheffield Wednesday, where he played 14 times and scored twice.

Between 2019 and 2023, Mighten has played 67 games for Forest, scoring four goals. He has only made one appearance for the side since they returned to the top tier of English football, which came last season and was only a brief seven minute cameo.

Kortrijk are currently bottom of the Belgian Pro League, with no wins and just one draw from their opening six games. The side have only scored four goals while conceding 17. They are set to be acquired by Burnley’s owners, with fans hoping this will turnaround their poor start to the season.
