Bold are reporting that Brian Riemer is in talks to become the next head coach of the Danish national team. The former Anderlecht head coach, who was sacked last month, is talking to the Danish FA with a view to become the successor to Kasper Hjulmand, who resigned following Euro 2024.
Riemer is, according to the report, one of the favourites and has a positive relationship with a number of the players, having coached them during his time as an assistant with Brentford and as a head coach with Anderlecht. Riemer’s first full season in Anderlecht went well, challenging for the title after missing out on European football the season before. However, a slow transfer period meant he began this current campaign on the back foot. The sides performances were poor and Riemer ultimately paid the price.
In Denmark’s most recent Nations League matches, they beat Serbia 2-0 at home before losing 1-0 away to Spain.
