Former Belgium boss set to succeed Mourinho at Fenerbahce

Domenico Tedesco appears to be becoming Fenerbahçe’s new manager, according to Turkish broadcaster NTV Spor. The Italian coach will succeed José Mourinho, who was fired for his defensive playing style.

This news ends days of uncertainty surrounding the Turkish club. The Italian had reportedly been on the shortlist for some time. There were also domestic candidates for the job, such as club icon Ismail Kartal, who played for the Yellow Canaries for 10 years.

Tedesco began his coaching career in Germany, at Erzgebirge Aue. He later became the youngest manager in Schalke 04’s history. His final and most recent stint in the dugout was as national coach of Belgium.

Fenerbahçe hope to usher in a new successful era with Tedesco. The official communication will seemingly take place in just a matter of time. Predecessor Mourinho has not yet found his next club.
