Francs Borains have announced that former Charleroi and Kortrijk head coach Karim Belhocine will be their new head coach. The side are currently second bottom in the second tier of Belgian football, having lost 4-0 at the weekend to Beveren. Belhocine takes over from Sébastien Grandjean, who had been at the club since November of 2023. Grandjean was sacked after a poor start to the season.
Belhocine has been out of work for a while since being sacked from Kortrijk back in August of 2022. His best time was with Charleroi, when he was able to get them into the qualifying rounds of European competitions. Belhocine also had a brief spell in charge at Anderlecht, as well as a full season with Kortrijk but was sacked in August of 2022.
Clearly, with the internatoinal break coming up, the club have seen this as an ideal time to bring the experienced head coach in. He will face a friendly against former side Kortrijk before his first game in the league against Deinze.
