Former Ajax and Reims striker Kaj Sierhuis can’t stop scoring for high-flying Fortuna Sittard

Fortuna Sittard are flying in the Eredivisie at the moment. Danny Buijs’ side have picked up ten points from their last four Eredivisie matches, leaving them ninth in the table and just two points off a European play-off place. The Limburg-based side have Kaj Sierhuis to thank for their success so far this season, as the former Ajax and Reims striker is experiencing the best campaign of his career so far.

Sierhuis, 25, has netted six goals in his last five games for Fortuna, including a hat-trick within 20 minutes against Excelsior. On Saturday, the Ajax academy product scored his 11th goal of the season in a 3-1 win over PEC Zwolle. With eight games remaining, there’s a huge chance that Fortuna could find themselves playing European football next season, and if Kaj Sierhuis continues his phenomenal form, they could end up achieving their highest ever top-flight finish.

Kaj Sierhuis previously spent two seasons with Ligue 1 side Reims, but failed to score a single goal for Will Still’s side. This season is the first time that the Dutchman has netted over 10 goals in a single campaign in his career. Teams like Twente, AZ and possibly even his former side Ajax, will all be looking at the Fortuna forward heading into the summer.
