Former Ajax and Bayern Munich winger linked with move to Celtic

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are showing serious interest in former Ajax, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich forward Nicolas Kühn. The current Scottish Premiership leaders have been tracking the 24-year-old German this season and could make a move for him this month.

Nicolas Kühn currently plays in the Austrian Bundesliga for Rapid Vienna, having failed to impress at his previous clubs. The Austrian outfit paid around £500,000 for him 18 months ago and are expected to ask for at least four times that. Kühn has featured 16 times in the league so far this season, scoring twice and providing five assists. The former German youth international can play anywhere across the forward line making him a suitable option for a club like Celtic.

In 2018, Ajax paid RB Leipzig around €2m for Nicolas Kühn. It’s fair to say that his time in Amsterdam was unsuccessful as he failed to break into the first team and left the club just two years later. Bayern Munich picked up the forward, but he was sold to Rapid Vienna in 2022. Kühn could succeed under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic, but it may take him time to settle based on his past at previous clubs.
