AD reporter predicts big Feyenoord news: ‘He will sign an extension for a year’

Quinten Timber will extend his contract by a year, according to Wessel Penning. In the podcast Hard Gras, the journalist from the Algemeen Dagblad revealed that the injured Feyenoord captain will soon add to his expiring contract.

While Penning expects Feyenoord to say goodbye to David Hancko and Igor Paixão next summer, he does not add Timber to that list. “I understand that Timber is going to sign for another year.”

“One more year, so that he still has two years of contract. Then he can make a transfer later in September. Or in the winter break. That actually also applies to Hartman.”

Timber joined Feyenoord in the summer of 2022, where he developed into a key player under Arne Slot. He was also a big player this season, until he suffered a serious knee injury in the Champions League match against AC Milan in February. That injury will keep him out for the rest of this season.
