Feyenoord see Sporting Lisbon midfielder Sotiris Alexandropoulos as possible replacement for Orkun Kökçü

Feyenoord are interested in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Sotiris Alexandropoulos, according to Record. The Dutch champions are currently searching for a replacement after the departure of Orkun Kökçü, who joined Benfica for €30m last week. Greek midfielder Sotiris Alexandropoulos has been identified as a suitable successor.

Sporting signed Alexandropoulos from Panathinaikos in the summer of 2022 for approximately €4m. The 21-year-old has featured just 13 times in all competitions for Sporting this season, who finished the campaign in fourth place. The Greek international hasn’t featured in a first-team game for Sporting since the 29th of December 2022 and a departure this summer looks very likely for the youngster.

Alexandropoulos’ current contract is valid until the summer of 2027. Sporting are said to be keen on selling him this summer but want to receive the same amount they paid for him, which was four million euros. A loan move for the midfielder is also an option for Feyenoord.
