Robin Van Persie’s side have won five Eredivisie games on the bounce and take on a PEC Zwolle side, who are unbeaten in four, at De Kuip. Sitting in 3rd place by virtue of goal difference, Feyenoord will need to pick where they left off two weeks ago, where they comfortably dispatched Fortuna Sittard 2-0. Since taking over in February, the former Feyenoord striker has not lost a domestic game in charge of his boyhood club as he looks to rebuild the side that won the league in 2022/23.
The reverse fixture ended in a 5-1 win for De Trots van Zuid and will be confident of repeating a similar score line, as they look to confirm another season of Champions League football next year.
As for the visitors, Zwolle are 14th and sit five points above the relegation play off place with five matches still to play.
As reported by Voetbal International, van Persie says centre back Thomas Beelen is ready to play following his injury three weeks ago. However Argentine forward Julian Carranza will be side lined, despite playing the last half an hour against Fortuna Sittard. Van Persie said: “His injury won’t last very long, but he’s out for a while”.
If the Rotterdammers secure victory on Friday evening, Van Persie will become the first manager to win six of his first seven league games in Rotterdam since Bert van Marwijk achieved this in 2007.
Kick off is at 21:00 CET.
