Feyenoord hoping to sign Ramiz Zerrouki in January

After failing to bring him to the club in the summer, Feyenoord are hoping to sign FC Twente midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki in January.

Zerrouki was one of Arne Slot’s main targets in the summer but he and his club were unable to get their man due to the fee FC Twente were demanding. The Enschede club wanted around €10m for him, which was deemed too much.

According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord are planning to reignite their pursuit once the transfer window reopens in January and are confident their Eredivisie rivals will have to accept a lower price, believing they’ll need to sell.

FC Twente technical director Jan Streuer says that isn’t the case though, after general director Paul van der Kraan recently said the same.

“We want to perform this season. There is no need to sell in the winter,” he told TC/Tubantia.

Zerrouki would be the replacement for Fredrik Aursnes that Feyenoord are currently lacking with Lutsharel Geertruida having to play in midfield in recent weeks.
