Feyenoord compete with Rangers for signature of Ghanaian international

Feyenoord have set their sights on Ghanaian defender Ebenezer Annan, the Daily Record reports. The 22-year-old Red Star Belgrade left-back is high on the Rotterdam club’s wishlist, as uncertainty remains about who will play at left-back next season.

Annan, a two-time Ghanaian international, has previously been linked to Glasgow Rangers, but now also seems to be on Feyenoord’s radar. According to Serbian media, the Rotterdammers are even preparing a bid for the defender, who reportedly has a price tag of around 2.4 million euros.

The left-back started his European career at Bologna, where he played one match in Serie A three years ago. After a loan spell at OFK Beograd he moved to Red Star, where he played a part in winning the Serbian league title with fourteen appearances.

Feyenoord are hoping to continue business with the Belgrade giants, following the signing of South Korean dynamo, In-beom Hwang.

With his strong performances, Annan has attracted the interest of several European clubs, but Feyenoord are determined to emerge as favourites. The Rotterdammers currently have three left-backs, namely Quilindschy Hartman, Hugo Bueno and Gijs Smal. A departure of Hartman has yet to be ruled out this summer, while the rented Bueno will return to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
