Feyenoord and Netherlands goalkeeper Justin Bijlow makes a comeback from injury in behind closed doors match against Excelsior

Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow made his return to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon in a behind closed doors match against Excelsior. The Netherlands national team shot stopper has been sidelined for the past two months with a wrist injury. Having made just one Eredivisie appearance so far this season, the 25-year-old could be back between the sticks after the international break. Wednesday’s friendly match with Excelsior ended 0-0.

Justin Bijlow injured his wrist during Feyenoord’s second game of the season against Sparta Rotterdam. German goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther has taken his spot between the sticks, helping the Eredivisie champions continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Arne Slot’s side are currently fourth in the table, behind Twente, AZ Alkmaar and PSV. League action resumes for Feyenoord on the 21st of October with a home clash against Vitesse. Excelsior are fifth in the league. They host PEC Zwolle on the 22nd of October as they aim to continue their incredible start to the campaign.
