Felice Mazzu remains one of the options for vacant Charleroi head coach position

Former Charleroi head coach Felice Mazzu remains a strong candidate for the vacancy with the Zebras. As DH reports, informal discussions have taken place between the club and the recently fired Anderlecht manager. Mazzu is currently taking at least a week off away from the media following his dismissal from the Mauves on Monday.

Other names that have been mentioned include former Beerschot manager Hernan Losada, as well as Bob Peeters, who most recently managed Westerlo and Top Oss in the Netherlands. Both are currently unattached.

Charleroi parted ways with manager Ed Still after a 4-1 defeat to Cercle Brugge at the weekend. Still’s side had only managed one win in their last five, picking up 16 points from 14 matches. The brother of Ed Still, Will Still, has already ruled himself out of taking any of the vacant jobs in Belgium. Will Still is currently caretaker manager of Stade de Reims, who are unbeaten with him in charge.
