Kyan Vaesen looks set to leave Westerlo to join OH Leuven. According to Pieter-Jan Calcoen, the two sides have reached an agreement which will see Vaesen leave the side to join Felice Mazzu, with Westerlo not seeing the striker as part of their plans for the rest of the season. Vaesen is set to join OH Leuven on a permanent basis, signing a contract for the next three and a half seasons.
The 24-year-old striker spent last season on loan at Dutch side Willem II. In 32 games for the side, he scored six goals but was unable to stop the club from being relegated from the Eredivisie. Prior to that, Vaesen had scored 15 goals in over 90 games for Westerlo. On his return to the club this season, Vaesen has been unable to force his way into the first team ahead of summer signing Nacho Ferri. In 20 games for Westerlo, with most of this appearances coming from the bench, Vaesen has scored one goal.
Vaesen joins an OH Leuven side short of goals up front. So far, the sides top scorer is Sory Kaba with four, while central defender Ewoud Pletinckx is the sides second top scorer with three.
