As per Rob Aarts and Geert-Jan Jakobs for Voetbal International, FC Twenteโs Gijs Besselink is joining Willem II in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
The journalists report that the arrival of Ramiz Zerrouki left Besselink with little prospect of playing time. The central midfielder remained on the bench for the entire away defeat to PEC Zwolle (1-0). Twente still sees a future for Besselink, but believe itโs important for his development to gain experience elsewhere.
That will happen at Willem II, who just lost Jesse Bosch to GKS Katowice in Poland upon his contract expiry.
Besselink made his Eredivisie debut at the age of 19 and has now played 21 matches at the highest level, scoring one goal. Once the loan transfer is finalised, Besselink can make his debut for Willem II on Sunday when the Tricolores face off against FC Eindhoven at home.
