According to Voetbal International, FC Twente are interested in Reims winger Mitchell van Bergen. Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri is also a target for Twente as they continue the search for a new right-winger.
Van Bergen has previously played in the Netherlands for Vitesse and Heerenveen. In the summer of 2021, the 23-year-old swapped the Eredivisie for Ligue 1 in a €2m move to Reims. However, the former Netherlands youth international has failed to make a mark on French football.
Last season, Mitchell Van Bergen featured 28 times for Reims, providing just two assists. Now, FC Twente want to sign the winger, but it’s unclear whether they want to loan or buy him. His contract at Reims is valid for another two seasons.
Twente are also showing strong interest in Facundo Pellistri. The future of the Manchester United talent should become clear in the coming weeks. FC Twente need reinforcements on the wing, given the departure of Denilho Cleonise, Virgil Misidjan and Vaclav Cerny.
