Fabrizio Romano shares Dávid Hancko update: Serie A transfer far from a done deal

There are no guarantees that Dávid Hancko will swap Feyenoord for Juventus after this season, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano (via VoetbalPrimeur).

Juventus were firmly in the driving seat to land Hancko in January. However, a transfer did not materialise, although sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli did take an advance on a summer deal with Feyenoord at the time. That deal is ‘far from guaranteed’, Romano outlines.

The 27-year-old Hancko is still high on the wish list of  The Old Lady, although an agreement is still far from being reached. Plus, several clubs, who are not mentioned by name, are said to be eyeing the left-footed defender’s signature.

Regardless, whoever lands the centre-back will have to reach deep into their pockets. Feyenoord have the defender on contract until the summer of 2028, which means the Rotterdammers can ask for a high-end price. Hancko’s current transfer value sits at 35 million euros (Transfermarkt).

Hancko has been at Feyenoord since the summer of 2022, following his move from Sparta Prague. This season he regularly wears the captain’s armband and has already played 38 official matches.
