Belgium now know who they will be playing at the World Cup next summer. The Red Devils have, on paper at least, been given a draw that will rank them as the favourites to top the group. With some poor performances in recent qualification, expectations will now be raised somewhat and pressure on the team to ensure they donโt slip up next summer.
Joining Belgium in their World Cup group will be Egypt, Iran and New Zealand. It is certainly an interesting draw for the Red Devils as they get to face three sides from different continents. Egypt are the standout due to Mohamed Salah, but Iran have been pretty regular attendees at World Cups. New Zealand also have some decent players such as Chris Wood, so Belgium will have to ensure they guard against any complacency next summer.
In terms of the schedule, Belgium will open their World Cup campaign on the 15/16th June, with the other games on the 21/22nd June and finally the 26/27th of June. Last time out in Qatar, the Red Devils failed to even make it out of their group. There will be plenty of pressure on the side to get out of their group this time.
