According to Voetbal International, FC Den Bosch’s Stan Henderikx is on the way to completing his transfer to the Excelsior.
In May it was already announced that promoted Excelsior wanted to go shopping at FC Den Bosch, which missed out on promotion in the play-offs. Byron Burgering was also of interest to the Rotterdammers, but the attacker left for relegated Almere City. Henderikx seems to be making the switch to the Eredivisie.
“I don’t know if Henderikx is a realistic target for Excelsior”, technical director Niels van Duinen indicated at the time. “But if you look at left central defenders who are Dutch-speaking, he is making a nice development.”
According to VI, Excelsior are now in pole position to take over the 21-year-old from FC Den Bosch. Henderikx is reportedly on a three-year contract, with an option for an extra year. Earlier this summer, Excelsior so far managed to bring in Gyan de Regt and Mathijs Tielemans (Vitesse), Adam Carlén (IFK Göteborg) and Stijn van Gassel (NEC) to Kralingen. In addition, Lewis Schouten came over on loan from AZ.
