Eupen part ways with Ed Still

Eupen have announced that Ed Still has left the club by mutual consent. The brother of Will Still took over from Bernd Storck at the end of November and was given the task of keeping the side in the Belgian Pro League. He managed to achieve this, although the side lost 7-0 on the final day of the season to Club Brugge. Had Zulte Waregem managed to overcome Cercle Brugge, which they almost did, Eupen would have been relegated. Eupen could have been safe with a weekend to spare, needing just a draw against Zulte Waregem. However, they ended up losing 5-1 to their relegation rivals.

For Still, this was his second job of the season after being sacked by Charleroi earlier in the campaign. He had done a decent job with the Zebras in the 2021/2022 season, but the lack of a striker cost him his job during the 2022/2023 season. Eupen are not afraid to get rid of managers, and after their lucky escape the club will be hoping that the next head coach will keep them out of the relegation battle.
