Manchester United are heading to Norway without Donny van de Beek, De Telegraaf reports. Erik ten hag has chosen 26 players to take on their pre-season trip, and the 26-year-old Dutch midfielder has been left out of the list. The Red Devils will play Leeds United in Oslo on Wednesday. Afterwards they’re set to play a series of exhibition matches against Lyon, Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, RC Lens and Athletic Bilbao.
Donny van de Beek sustained a serious knee injury in January. The former Ajax midfielder recently resumed training in preparation for the new season. Van de Beek has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer. AS Roma were recently reported to be interested in Van de Beek, but no offer was made.
Last month, Mail Sport revealed that United were open to selling the midfielder for around £20m. That’s £19m less than what they paid for him in 2020 when Van de Beek transferred from Ajax. Injuries have been a problem for the midfielder. Last season he featured just seven times in the Premier League.
