Eredivisie preview | PSV Eindhoven vs Go Ahead Eagles

PSV Eindhoven will be hoping to brush the defeat against Emmen under the carpet at the first time of asking when they welcome Go Ahead Eagles to the Philips Stadion. The hosts have picked up just two wins in their last five matches in all competitions but are just six points behind leaders Feyenoord – who dropped two points against fellow title rivals Ajax.

Meanwhile, Go Ahead Eagles’ impressive 14-match unbeaten came to an end when they faced AZ Alkmaar midweek at De Adelaarshorst. Rene Hake will be eager to see his side bounce back from such a disappointing defeat but they face a tough task this weekend as PSV have won the last four meetings between these sides.

Here’s both teams’ current form in all competitions:

PSV: W-D-D-W-L

Go Ahead Eagles: D-D-W-D-L

Team news

PSV will be without Mauro Junior who picked up a red card in his side’s midweek defeat which could see Phillipp Mwene take his place in the starting lineup. Van Nistelrooy will find a solution to his depleted attacking options as Luuk de Jong looks set to miss out for a second successive match with a head injury.

The visitors still have Bas Kuipers and Philippe Rommens both out with injuries while Isac Lidberg looks set to lead the attack again this weekend.
