Donny van de Beek still confident he can succeed at Manchester United

Donny van de Beek is confident that he can still succeed at Manchester United, saying he feels “great” after returning from injury.

To say that Van de Beek’s time at Man Utd has been disappointing would be an understatement, with the Dutchman starting just 30 league games and scoring just two league goals since joining in the summer of 2020.

It was hoped by many that the arrival of former manager Erik ten Hag would revive his career in England, but that hasn’t yet been the case.

However, after being out with an injury, the Dutchman is ready to return and believes he can turn things around.

“To be injured is the most difficult thing for a player,” he told the club.

“You want to be on the pitch, around the guys in the stadium, feel the grass and, yeah, it’s a hard time if you are injured. I’m happy to be back and have to stay fit for a longer time and just try to help the team.

“I feel great, I feel good and what I’m saying is I just need to keep going and, if chances come, I have to take them.

“It [playing an attacking role] is one of the points how I can maybe help the team, play in between the lines and make my runs with the ball, give some passes.

“I just do my best and have to stay fit and just help the team.”
